5 Ways To Make Your Website Work for You

An interesting website homepage

When done correctly, your website should be built to do a whole lot of heavy lifting. That means you have more time and energy to focus on the things you’re passionate about. From customer service to product innovation—think of all the time you would get back to focus on other areas of your business that you love.

So, what exactly can a website do for you? Simply put—you need a clean, attractive website that also converts customers. Think your website is up to snuff? Check out these five things your website could (and should!) be doing for your business. Plus, we’ve included tactical ways for you to get started.

1. Attract more online customers.
Long gone are the days of hunting through huge catalogs and searching store shelves for products. In today’s world, people want the ease and convenience of online shopping. That’s why it’s important to know and understand your website by reviewing your analytics. Understanding the analytics helps ensure you can use your website to attract more customers and keep your current customers coming back for more.

Start with this simple step: choose the top five pages you want on Google’s nice list. Then, add your city name to the pages so they’re optimized for local Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Have time to do more? Use these tips to boost your site’s rankings and increase your online traffic. We promise, you’ll be glad you did!

2. Make your sales calls more personal.
Luckily, you don’t have to dazzle new customers with something like a tap dance. Instead, let your website be the shining star. For your next meeting with a prospect, create a portal with catalog items—you can even add their logo so it’s personalized.

If you have an in-person meeting, make sure to take your sell sheets*. Storefronts are impressive web-to-print solutions that’ll knock their socks off. Plus, store fronts, or customer portals, can help increase your per-order revenue by up to 20% and lock in repeat customers. With results like that, it’s a win-win.

*To access the new sell sheets, log in at my.firespring.com, then click Marketing Materials > Sell Sheets. Once you’ve downloaded the files, feel free to personalize them with your company’s logo and information.

3. Increase proof efficiency so you’re not bogged down in processes.
Sometimes it helps to start small. Choose just one customer to get started! Instead of emailing them a proof, send it using your website. This streamlines your workflow, eliminates the need to create and deliver color proofs and makes the entire process a piece of cake for everyone involved. Your customers will be able to approve or submit changes right through their portal. How convenient is that?

4. Predict future orders so you can create the right campaigns.
Tap into past customer orders to predict what future customers will buy. Simply log into your Springboard and go to your Message Center. Then, look at your online orders. Notice any trends? Maybe you’ll see items that are frequently purchased together or products that resonate with a particular industry or vertical market. This valuable information can help you create campaigns that resonate perfectly in line with your customer base.

5. Make your work shine.
Don’t be modest—your website should show off what you do best! Update your product pages like Marketing Materials, Signs & Banners, Invitations & Stationery, etc., with images of your own projects. This makes it easy for your customers to find what they’re looking for while they check out your quality of work. It may even spark some ideas to generate more revenue for your business in the future.

Your website should allow you to love what you do and do what you love—so let’s chat about ways we can free up your time!
